A mare and her filly were separated from their band and are running away from stallions that are trying to force them to join their group. Being a wild horse on the Salt River is not always easy. *Mom and baby were unharmed and are back with their original band.
We (Shannon & Drew) have been photographing the Salt River wild horses for many years now. We feel very passionate about these amazing animals and have experienced the bond the horses have for one another. These iconic beauties were almost rounded up and removed from the area they call home. It would have been a tragic loss to only have the memories of these horses. Lets hope that this extraordinary gift in Arizona will be here for generations to come.
